Traced from Space

If you look closely at this image, what do you see? Why its a map of the earth-based coordinates of more than 1 million photos taken from the International Space Station of course!

This visualization experiment by Nathan Bergey, open source rocket scientist and Portland State Aerospace Society member, was recently featured on the web magazine Slate - the latest in a string of high-profile articles after going viral earlier this year on The Atlantic and Gizmodo.

Learn more about this project, and play with NASA's dataset yourself, on Nathan's github page.
